It is impossible to think of Tuscany and its wine without first thinking of Chianti. The eponymous Chianti Classico is recognisable by the “Back Rooster label” and is produced using 80 to 100% of Sangiovese grapes. The Chianti area has grown considerable over the years, however this trip will focus on the origins of Chianti Classico, visiting of the main villages in the morning where you can buy local produce and have lunch in a local cellar, or in one of the many typical trattorias. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting and tasting at another winery, before returning home.
